  • Q: What do we have at the Rain Forest Resort Village?
  • A:. We have Fireplace Cabins, Our Village Inn, Parkside Suites, Lake side RV Campground, GiftShop and General Store, Laundromat, Pay Showers, the Quinault Post Office, a large lawn, trails to the Big Spruce and into the Quinault Rain Forest, the Salmon House Restaurant & Lounge, canoes and friendly staff.
  • Q:What is there to do in Quinault?
  • A: Plenty, most are centered around nature. How about golfing a round at the just opened Lockes Landing Golf Course. Or, there are hiking trails, fishing, swimming in the Lake, Bird watching, seeing Elk and other wildlife, canoeing, lake tours, the Quinault Museum, reading, unwinding. flying kites, sailing, biking, finding yourself etc.. etc.. ect
  • Q: How much rain do we get?
  • A: We get an average of about 12 feet (144 inches) per year.
  • Q: Does it rain here every day?
  • A: No, We have a dry season, April through Middle of October, and it doesn’t even rain all the time during the wet season.
  • Q: Where is the Rain Forest?
  • A: The Valley that is around Lake Quinault is what forms the temperate Quinault Rain Forest.
  • Q: What is the Valley of the Rainforest Giants?
  • A: Quinault, with at least Six record size tree found in the Quinault Rainforest. The World’s Largest Spruce it located on the Resort grounds. The Largest Western Red Cedar in across the lake just up from the Lake Quinault Resort.
  • Q: How far are you from the Lake Quinault Lodge?
  • A: We are just one mile past the Lake Quinault Lodge on the South Shore Road of Lake Quinault.
  • Q: Where are the Elk?
  • A: Elk are found up the Quinault Valley, sometimes less than a mile from the Resort, they travel from the lowlands to the hills depending on the season. Herds can be as large as sixty.
  • Q: What can you fish for?
  • A: In the Lake, Rainbow and Cutthroat Trout are the targets, in the rivers, Salmon and Steelhead. The Lake is usually open from April till October, and the rivers from October till March.
  • Q: What is that slimy thing?
  • A: Probably a Banana Slug, which lives in moist forest floors along the Pacific Coast especially in the rain forest. It is a decomposer, that means it chews up leaves, and animal droppings and other dead plant material and recycles it into soil. One of their favorite foods seems to be mushrooms.
  • Q: When is the best time to hunt for mushrooms?
  • A: in the Spring and Fall tend to be the best times, right after a rain it when you will find them sprouting.
  • Q: Do all your rooms have Baths?
  • A: Yes, all of are rooms and cabins have full baths, some even have jetted whirlpool tub. Q: Do we supply linens for the rooms?
